The Society's nearly 100,000 trained volunteers in the United States provided 12.5 million hours of volunteer service in 2018, helping more than 5.4 million people through visits to homes, prisons and hospitals at a value of more than $1.1 billion dollars.
During Pope Francis’ recent visit, he reached Christians and non-Christians alike with his message of helping others. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul has been putting these words into practice for more than 170 years. SVdP is truly volunteer driven with a volunteer to staff ratio of 16 to 1.
Here at Sacred Heart Catholic Parish we help the poor and improve our spiritual lives by coordinatin montly food collections, working at the St. Vincent de Paul store in Green Bay montly, and working at the Red Barn brat stand at Charlie's County Market on Main St. in Shawano, three days for SAFPARC.
We meet the FIRST Thursday of each month at 1:15pm in the Parish Center Library (321 S. Sawyer St). Meetings last about one and half hours. Additional stewardship is dependent upon the activity of our local group.
